Arch Linux is a popular distribution for linux enthusiasts and it has been gaining many positive reviews in recent times.

So the question is Is it worth trying?

Arch Linux is a Linux distribution for computers with x86–64 processors. Arch Linux adheres to five principles: simplicity, modernity, pragmatism, user centrality, and versatility.

1.) Installation

Well, one of the major reasons users are afraid of Arch is because of it’s installation (unlike other distros like Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Fedora) is relatively difficult as it does not have an Installation Bundler so you have to install the Arch from its very base i.e. source code and for many people this is the point where they start getting shaky. You have to install system command by command. Moreover it does not have a GUI(graphical user interface) pre-installed so we have to specifically install a particular desktop environment(GNOME, Xfce, Mate, Cinnamon, etc) and a window manager.

2.) Package Manager

Arch Linux users Pacman as its default package manager. You can’t install Debian packages on the Arch. All the packages that can be installed on the system are contained in the AUR i.e. Arch User Repository which contain of more than 14,000 of repgositories so you actually use Pacman for all the basic things and some extras also for smoothening your system

3.) Overall Usage

Overall usage of Arch Linux is quite similar to other Linux distros ( Both desktop environment and terminal )

But I said now that Arch Linux is not recommended for every day use ( streaming Netflix ). It is a professional Linux distribution and is mostly recommended for export Linux users who like to take charge of each command and process the system is running.

Arch Linux provides complete control over the computer, each process, each command, each element that you can customise on your own to make it suit you and your needs.

So what I think is that you should use our Arch only when you know and good at Linux commands.
